Good day readers,
Spring is finally here. With the warmer weather and certainly with some of the trees starting to flower, babies are popping up all over the reserve. As a result of this the animal activity has been great this past week. The only question is where to start…
Leopards have not been their usual elusive selves this week, with a number of sightings bringing huge excitement to all guests and guides. All these sightings have left one in awe of these beautiful animals with the faint sound of “clicking” in the back ground being the only distraction as guest and guide alike capture those dream photographs. One of these incredible opportunities was getting a chance to watch a leopard cub explore the joys of life in a tree.
The Elephant herd has been filled with joy with the arrival of a new addition to their family. The little one was first seen by Dylan out on a drive and our guests had the privilege of witnessing its extended family welcoming the baby to our reserve.
With the trees in flower the reserve has been transformed into a birders paradise with a large variety of spectacular birds being seen both on drives and around the lodge. Some of the more memorable sightings have been Marico Sunbird, Dark Backed Weavers, Gorgeous Bush Shrike, Little Bee-eaters, Black Coucal and Malachite Kingfishers.
Until next week…
