Hello Everyone,
The female Lions have been fantastic recently and have been seen on almost every drive. One afternoon we watched them walking along the river bed in front of the lodge, as soon as we lost sight of them from the lodge everyone jump onto the vehicles. We found them a few minutes later and watched them playing for three hours; then we followed them on a hunt as it got darker.
This week we had a lovely sighting of a male Hooked-Lipped (Black) Rhino surprisingly out in an open plain feeding on the small trees that have started to grow. He was nervous of the vehicle at first but soon calmed down, even lying down for a nap at one point.
While out an evening drive Chase heard a Cheetah vocalizing possibly after one of the females who was in a nearby thicket, after 15 minutes of following the calls they found him walking next to the road scent marking. As he made his way through the open savannah, the lighting was perfect for photos with the sun setting in the west and the moon rising at the same time.
Until next week…
